Privacy Policy

The short version: this is a static website. It has no user accounts, no comments, and no ads. We don’t set cookies, we don’t run analytics, and we don’t sell, share, or trade anything about you — because we collect almost nothing to begin with.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, the server that hosts whatcanwedo.org keeps standard access logs: the IP address a request came from, the browser’s user-agent string, the page requested, and the time. We use these only to keep the site running and to diagnose abuse or technical problems. Logs are rotated and deleted on the hosting server’s standard schedule and are not combined with any other data. The site is hosted on a server operated with IONOS.

Cookies

We don’t set any.

Newsletter

The subscribe form on this site is not yet connected to a mailing service — submitting it does not currently send us your email address. When the newsletter launches, we’ll update this policy to name the provider and explain exactly how addresses are stored and how to unsubscribe. Our intent is simple: your email will be used to send you the newsletter, and nothing else.

Links and embedded content

Articles link out to other sites — petitions, representatives’ contact pages, news sources — and may occasionally embed media hosted elsewhere. Once you follow a link or interact with an embed, you’re subject to that site’s privacy practices, not ours.

RSS

The RSS feed is a plain file. Reading it tells us nothing about you beyond the server-log entry described above.

Your rights

Since we don’t hold personal data about visitors, there’s usually nothing to export or erase. But if you believe we have something of yours, or you have any question about this policy, email us at hello@whatcanwedo.org and we’ll sort it out.

Changes

If our practices change — for example, when the newsletter goes live or if we add privacy-respecting analytics — we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
